Getting Started

Step by step through MetricsStudio

From the first launch to your first evaluated recording — seven short steps.

1. First launch

After installation, the tile dashboard opens empty at first. Use the "add target" button to create your first tile.

2. Add a local process

Pick a running process on your own machine in the process selection dialog — MetricsStudio creates a new tile with CPU, memory, and network values for it.

3. Read the live chart

Every tile shows a timeline of recent measurements. Hovering over the chart shows the exact value at that point in a tooltip.

4. Set a threshold

In the tile settings, you can define a warning threshold — if the measurement exceeds this limit, the tile visibly changes color.

5. Add a remote target via the RemoteAgent

If MetricsStudio.RemoteAgent is running on another machine, you can watch a process or the entire machine as an additional tile — just like a local target.

6. Record & evaluate

The record button on a tile starts logging its measurements. In the evaluation view, you can review completed recordings or export them as an HTML report.

7. Adjust settings

Theme (dark/light), language (German/English), the live chart's time window, and the optional update check can all be configured centrally in the settings.
